In rural Punjab, girls and women have been suffering from systemic discrimination for decades. The preference for the male child is revealed in the dysmal gender ratio of the region.

A major part of our football for development programming for girls is centered on the discussion and deconstruction of traditional gender roles and myths of female inferiority in the local context.
