MAY 27 2008: WOLVERHAMPTON WOLVES FOOTBALL CLUB U.K.TO BENEFIT YFC IN TRAINING
Under strategic tie up with JCT Phagwara the wolves FC will help in exhanging training expertise with football academy. Wolves first team coach Terry Connor along with Panjabi wolves Director Jas bains and raj bains visited YFC and had a training session with Academy boys .

March 1st 2008 � Shri Gurmangal Dass, Founder
and President of the Youth Football Club took a trip to the UK and
was successful in meeting many of the people from Rurka Kalan that
are now living in the UK. He appraised them of the work undertaken
by the Club so far and shared with them the overall vision of the
club of assisting the village youth in their all round development.
He also visted various football clubs and academies for furhter development of project .these included Bolton Wanderers football Academy, Manchester city Football Club, Coventry city Football club, GNG Leicester . A tie with Bolton Wanderes Academy and Coventry City academy was made in the field of coacing . Mr Jasbir Sandhu Associate Director of Coventry City FC helped a lot for development projects. Mr Balbir Sandhu, Rana Sandhu , Jaskaran Sandhu, Jaswant Sandhu, Babbu ,Daljit Chawla,Ravinder Sandhu Jora Sandhu helped Mr Dass for successful fundraising.

August 2007 �
YFC Rurka Kalan, Jalandar�s, amateur football team finished as the
runner up in the Punjab State IInd Division.

June 1, 2007 �YFC Rurka Kalan extends its reach to the village of Bir Bansian.
This village of approximately 4,000 is the first in a series of
projects where te YFC wishes to replicate its own success.
March 2, 2007
� Working with Nehru Yuva Kendra Jalandhar, a 10 day program was
organized by the Youth football Club. The aim of the camp was to
impart football stitching training to locally based �Dalits�
(untouchables) and to educate them on the reasons for water
conservation, given the low water table in Punjab due to constant
water exploitation.

Februrary 1, 2007 � A 15
day long residential camp on �self employment� was organized by the
Club. 25 young boys and girls attended the camp and a special focus
was placed on girl attendees and on skills for them.

8 December, 2006 � Youth
Charter For Sports Culture & Arts, Manchester UK has been a
supporter of YFC, in Punjab since its inception. More than 200 kids
at YFC, received a �Soccerwise Citizenship in Action Through Soccer�
package. YFC translated the packs into Hindi and Punjabi as well.

October 26, 2006 � YFC Rurka Kalan is

October 15, 2006 � YFC Rurka Kalan,
joins hands with Gram Panchayat (Village Council of Rurka Kalan) and
Dera Bhai Sadhu (a local man of God) to plant 500 saplings in and
around the village.

September 4, 2006� The Punjab Rural Sports Council honoured YFC as the best
organization in the state that promoted sports as a way of life.
The award was presented by Mr. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, (President
Punjab Olympic Association & Former Union Minister).

June 19, 2006
� With the help of Nehru Yuva Kendra of Jalandhar, Youth Football
Club, Rurka Kalan, organized a 10 day residential camp was attended
by 30 attendees. The goal of the camp was to show other �Youth
Clubs� of the neighboring villages on how they could have a
sustainable organization and have a meaningful impact in their
catchment areas.

May 11, 2006
- �Youth & Sports Complex� inaugurated by Mr. Samir Thapar Vice
Chairman and Managing Director of JCT Mills and the JCT Football
Club.

April 26, 2006� FIFA observer Mr. Moshen Gilani visited the Club and was
presented with a memnto.

Februrary 26, 2006 � A 52 member
delegation comprising an 18 member professional soccer team from the
Albion Sports Club, Bradford UK, visited the YFC, Rurka Kalan. The
trip was sponsored by GNA Enterprises, a long time supporter of the
Youth Football Club, Rurka Kalan.
October 15, 2005
� Celebrated �World Womens Rural Day� at village of Rurka Kalan,
highlighting the role and plight of the rural women.

January 26, 2005
� The YFC Rurka Kalan, President and Founder, Gurmangal Dass was
awarded by the Governor of Punjab, Mr. S. F. Rodrigues for his
commendable contribution to the society.
